One week Meditation course

The word meditation which has been often used widely as a synonym for focusing and concentration on a particular object or process. This word has been frequently used quite loosely and inaccurately in modern times while a lot of confusion exists with regards to meditation and how and when to practice it. For some it is thinking and contemplation and for others mere day dreaming and fantasizing , but DHYAN ( meditation) as we say in Sanskrit is not any of these.

Precisely speaking meditation is a technique to first relax and then concentrate the mind attaining a state of thoughtlessness while the mind tends to become fixed and devoid of any disturbance , once this state is attained the mind can be further dive into the deeper realms of our consciousness and experience a state of attentive mindfulness other than the normal awakened state which we frequently experience. DHYAN is one of the final steps to self realization and ultimate bliss as per the ashtanga philosophy and also stands higher than other yogic processes which aid this achievement of meditation and further control and fixture of mind through it. Being a completely self driven and self actualized practice meditation brings forth the true fruits of practice for the practitioner when the mind becomes clear , relaxed and inwardly attentive. During meditation a practitioner is fully awake and alert but the external factors hardly effect him/her . during this undistracted and inward oriented state of mind the practitioner experience immense peace and rejuvenating relaxation. For meditation to fructify the inner body must be at peace and as the mind becomes still it is not distracted nor troubled
